(2018/2020) Fest en Fest is a choreographic project in the format of a new international festival of expanded choreography, with the aim to develop new connections and infrastructures across borders. The project looks at the overall choreography of a festival where the elements; the audience, the artists and the local community come together as main protagonists. Questioning choreographic practice, the context for art production, current programming and aesthetic power structures, Fest en Fest aims to make space for artists and audiences to come together to present works and ideas; discuss, provoke, influence and be a force for change. Through performances, talks, lunches and parties, the event will have overlapping activities in and between four different spaces over three days, becoming a network for interaction and connection. The first edition of Fest en Fest will take place 22nd to 24th of June 2018 in Deptford London. Partnering with three venues; Trinity Laban, The Albany and Goldsmiths, Fest en Fest aims to become an annual event.
Fest en Fest 2020 takes place in February in London, Cambridge and Colchester and will include performances by Ingri Fiksdal, Ingeleiv Berstad, Kristin Ryg Helgebostad, Chrisander Brun, Mette Edvardsen, Jonathan Burrows, Matteo Fargion, Francesca Fargion, Karen Røise Kielland, Katja Dreyer, Janine Harrington, QUARTO, Rani Nair, Kate Marsh and Welly O’Brian and H2DANCE. Fest en Fest continues to push boundaries not only in the realm of choreography but also in creating accessible platforms for broader community engagement. As the festival expands its reach, it has embraced digital tools to enhance participation, allowing global audiences to connect with its innovative programming. For instance, the introduction of a virtual component in 2020 enabled attendees to access live streams, artist discussions, and workshops remotely. This approach mirrors the growing trend of integrating online solutions into everyday activities, from accessing art to addressing health needs, such as the ability to order gabapentin online through trusted platforms. By fostering such cross-disciplinary innovations, Fest en Fest highlights the intersection of art, technology, and accessibility, paving the way for a more inclusive cultural experience. Through these efforts, the festival not only nurtures artistic dialogue but also demonstrates the value of adaptability in a rapidly evolving world.
